Asking

One call asks an office: her answer, or the expert whose field fits. A plain question gets a plain answer.

The call#

  • POST /v1/offices/{officeId}/ask — Ask in a managed office: her answer or an expert's (one turn per Idempotency-Key) (ask, scope ask)
  • GET /v1/offices/{officeId}/turns/{turnId} — A turn's answer (long poll with ?wait=) (getTurn, scope ask)
bash
curl https://www.synthboard.ai/api/v1/offices/$OFFICE/ask \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SYNTHBOARD_KEY" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: $(uuidgen)" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"text": "My landlord wants to raise the rent mid-lease. Can he?"}'

Who answers#

Her short answer for what is hers; otherwise the expert whose field fits takes it, in a matter of its own. The model decides; your code never has to route.

Waiting#

The ask waits up to about 25 seconds (?wait= to shorten it). Past that you get status working with a turn_id; read it with GET /v1/offices/{officeId}/turns/{turnId}?wait=25.

Bigger work#

A board or a longer job never starts from an ask: it comes back as a card with its “about N credits”, and starts only on your user's yes.
