Getting started#
What is SynthBoard?
SynthBoard is a decision-intelligence platform where you assemble a board of expert AI advisors — each with their own role, personality, and memory across your sessions — and put one decision in front of them. They debate, push back on each other, and produce a synthesised recommendation you can actually act on.
How do I run my first session?
Sign in and ask your question. A short intake turns it into a decision brief, the brief staffs the right advisors automatically (you see who is seated, why, and the cost before anything runs), and the board researches, debates, and delivers a decision memo. Not every question needs a full board — you can also take one expert aside in a Consult.
Open dashboardWhat is the Consult?
The Consult is a 1-on-1 with a single named expert — conversational, billed per turn (typically 5–40 credits a turn), with composed documents (a memo, an email, a plan) when the ask calls for one. It is the cheap default for most questions; escalate to the full Boardroom when the stakes justify it.
Which AI models power SynthBoard?
Frontier models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and Perplexity. Synths are matched to the model that fits their personality, with premium tiers unlocking the most capable models across all four providers.
How sessions work#
What does a session actually do?
A Boardroom session seats 2–12 specialised AI synths with genuinely opposed perspectives, then runs one research → debate → memo cycle: each advisor investigates independently, the board argues the disagreements out, and the run terminates in a decision memo — verdict, confidence, the conditions that would flip it, and the strongest dissent. Every synth is its own model call, not one model playing roles. When something changes later, you reconvene the same board as Round N+1.
What is reconvene?
A finished board is not continued — it is reconvened. Reconvene opens Round N+1 from the board's delivered verdict plus what changed, re-briefs, and runs as a new linked session. Your history of rounds becomes the decision's paper trail.
How many synths can I use per session?
Pick 2–12 synths per session — Free up to 3, Pro up to 5, Max up to 8, Ultra up to 12. Each synth has a distinct role, personality, and memory across your sessions for genuine diversity of thought.
Can I share sessions with my team?
Yes. Open a session, click Share, and generate a link — public, password-protected, or invite-only, scoped to the whole session or just the synthesis. Viewers get read-only access, and you can revoke any link at any time.
Can I save a board for re-use?
Yes — save your favourite experts as a Lineup at /boards. A lineup pins guaranteed seats on future boards; the decision brief staffs the rest of the table around them. Useful for recurring decisions like weekly planning, deal reviews, or pre-mortems.
What happens if a session fails mid-run?
Credits are reconciled — you only pay for what was actually computed. If it fails before any model call, nothing is charged. If it fails mid-round, you are charged for completed rounds only. The session.failed webhook fires (if registered). You can fork the session from your dashboard to retry with the same configuration.
Can I delete a session?
Draft sessions can be deleted immediately. Active, completed, and archived sessions stay around for credit and audit reasons but can be archived so they disappear from the default dashboard list.
Credits & billing#
How does pricing work?
SynthBoard runs on a monthly subscription. Each tier includes a monthly credit grant — Free 150, Pro 2,500, Max 7,000, Ultra 15,000 — and sessions consume credits as they run. What changes between tiers is the credit allocation plus which models, modes, and limits are unlocked.
View pricingHow much do typical sessions cost?
A Consult turn typically runs 5–40 credits — the cheap default for most questions. A full board typically runs 55–150 credits end to end, depending on the question's depth and the models seated. You always see a cost estimate before anything is charged.
Is there a free tier?
Yes — forever-free, no card required. 150 credits a month plus 250 bonus credits on signup. Up to 20 sessions on the account, all 24 synths, all 10 session modes. Enough to run several real boards before you decide whether to upgrade.
Do unused credits roll over?
Subscription credits reset each billing cycle and do not carry over. Top-up credit packs (purchased separately) never expire — they are yours forever and are spent only after the monthly grant runs out.
Can I cancel anytime, and do you refund?
You can cancel your subscription at any time and you keep access through the end of your current billing period. All purchases are final and non-refundable. Payments are processed securely by Paddle.
View pricingHow do I track my credit usage?
Your dashboard shows real-time credit balance and recent usage. Each session lists its credit breakdown on completion.
Go to dashboardIntegrations & tools#
Can I run sessions from Claude, Cursor, or Zapier?
Yes. SynthBoard ships a production MCP server compatible with every MCP-native client (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, Zed, ChatGPT, Raycast, and more), plus a full REST API with signed webhooks that automation platforms like Zapier, n8n, and Make can drive today — native adapters for those platforms are in development. Everything uses the same engine and the same credit balance.
Which tools can synths actually execute?
Any of 62 providers connected at /settings/integrations. Gmail, Outlook, Linear, Jira, Asana, HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, Notion, Stripe, Brex, PostHog, and more. Each action goes through a Skeptic review and your explicit approval (with a 30-second undo window) before execution. Per-session, you can restrict synths to specific tools or turn tool execution off entirely.
Privacy & data#
How is my data handled?
Your sessions are isolated per account at the database layer — only you can read your own sessions. Prompts and outputs are sent to the model providers listed in our privacy policy (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Perplexity). None of them train on your data. API key usage is audit-logged for 90 days.
Can I run a session without the board remembering it?
Yes — flip the "Grounded in your world" pill to "Off the record" when you start a table. An off-record session reads nothing from your World Model and writes nothing back — no facts, goals, or names are stored. It's marked with an "Off the record" chip in the session and on its dashboard card. Grounded is the default: the experts read, and update, what your board knows about you.
See what your board knowsIs my data encrypted?
Yes. TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest, and full data isolation between accounts.
View security detailsDo you sell my data?
Never. Your sessions and prompts are private. We only share data with the model providers required to generate responses, and they are contractually bound not to train on it.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. Close your account from settings, and all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days. Individual session deletes are immediate for drafts.
