# Pricing & Credits — Documentation

## How credits work

All pricing is credit-based and usage-driven. Every session costs credits based on:

- **Number of Synths.** More Synths = more model calls per round.
- **Model class.** Standard < Premium < Frontier.
- **Rounds.** 2–4 typical.
- **Context length.** Longer context = more tokens.
- **Mode.** Deep Dive and Crystal Ball are more model-intensive than Lightning Round.

## Credit grants by tier

**Subscription credits reset monthly.** Unused subscription credits do not roll over.

**Top-up credit packs never expire.** They stack on top of your subscription grant. The system uses subscription credits first, then top-ups.

## Top-up packs

Four sizes, scaling from a quick top-up to a long-runway pack. Larger packs deliver more credits per dollar.

These are *typical* — real cost varies by question complexity and context length.

## Models by class

- **Standard** — cost-efficient models. Good for first sessions, gut-checks, brainstorms.
- **Premium** — GPT-4o, Claude Sonnet, Gemini Pro. The default for serious decision-making on Pro tier.
- **Frontier** — Claude Opus, GPT-4.5/o3, Gemini Ultra. The strongest models in production. Used on Max and Ultra for high-stakes decisions.

The system routes Synths to models per persona. You don't pick the model; the system picks the best fit. You can override per-session if you want.

## Billing details

- **Provider:** Paddle Merchant of Record. Cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay.
- **Currency:** USD.
- **Refunds:** All purchases final and non-refundable. See [terms](https://www.synthboard.ai/legal/terms).
- **Annual discount:** Pro/Max/Ultra all offer ~17% discount on annual billing.
- **Cancellation:** Effective end of current cycle, no proration, no penalty.
